Ahead of International Womens Day , we took time out with one of our own inspirational women, successful Rally-codriver and Portas Senior Consultant, Hanna Riehle

What are the best things about taking part in rallies?

“I love competing as a team, where our skills complement each other and there is total trust. When everything aligns under pressure, it’s truly amazing.

Women’s rallies such as @Rally Jameel have such a supportive atmosphere, and it’s inspiring to connect with professional racers from around the world. It’s special to be part of events that make motorsport truly accessible and allow all women to discover and showcase their capabilities.”

What skills do you bring from rallying into your day job at Portas?

“There are so many! I’ve gotten really good at making decisions at crossroads (literally!) and staying calm under pressure. I also try to always learn from my mistakes, whether in rallying or in the office.”

What advice would you give a woman starting a career in the sports industry?

“Commit to following your passion and embrace your skillset to find your niche. And always be ready to learn—because the learning never stops!”

What is your greatest sporting achievement?

“Winning Rally Jameel… twice!”

Finally, what’s the greatest single moment in sporting history, in your opinion?

“Kathrine Switzer becoming the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, despite attempts to pull her off the course. If you haven’t seen her story, it’s definitely worth a read.”
