Before joining Portas, Mohamed worked for 2.5 years at a boutique public sector advisory firm, where he advised GCC government ministries and entities on strategies covering health, tourism, foreign aid, and trade finance. Prior to that, he held a role at BCG in London, where he advised on profitability, revenue growth, business line optimisation, and organisational efficiency. His earlier experience also includes positions within the UK Civil Service and a digital transformation-focused consulting firm.
Mohamed captained his school and university first basketball teams, competing both domestically and internationally, and he continues to play in competitive men’s basketball leagues. He is also a regular padel player and an avid follower of sports such as football, tennis, and Formula 1.
Academically, Mohamed achieved First Class Honours in Economics from SOAS, University of London, and completed a Master’s in Development Studies at Cambridge University. He was the sole recipient of the 2020 AGM Randeree Scholarship to fund his postgraduate studies and represented the UK as one of four delegates at the G7 Youth Summit.
